Who can say no to a chance to bask in the sweet steam of a sugarhouse in early spring? I shot this assignment last April for Food & Nutrition Magazine, for release this year. Many thanks to my syrup-savvy friends at Burgess Sugarhouse, Backwoods Alchemy and Maple Tree Tea! I had a great time connecting with old friends and creating some fun shots. Published: Burton’s Greg Dacyshyn for Rhapsody

Rhapsody, which is the first-class in-flight magazine for United Airlines, asked me to shoot a portrait of Burton creative director Greg Dacyshyn a while back. The magazine has a section dedicated to featuring mood boards from various art and creative directors – Greg got really into the idea and it was fun to see what he and his staff came up with. I got a little tour of Burton while we scouted for portrait spots – the Burton crew was super accommodating and helpful in pulling off the shoot, and I had a great time meeting both Greg and his pup Aiko – who was super well behaved!

When Billboard Magazine asked me to shoot Matisyahu before and during his performance at Higher Ground on the eve of Hanukkah, I was ecstatic about accepting the assignment. Location portraits, reportage and music photography: my three favorite things to shoot! Matis and his crew were super laid back and professional, and great to hang out with all day. Billboard sent up a team from New York including a video crew, all of whom did a fantastic job – check out the full On the Road feature here. A slideshow of my images can be found here. I shot maple sugaring for Food & Nutrition magazine a few weeks ago – here’s a fun outtake from my friend Andy Carr’s sugarhouse, Backwoods Alchemy in Enosburg. His awesome dog posed in front of the sugarbush for me while I made some photos. Many thanks to all the great sugarmakers who let me hang out, Burgess Sugarhouse and Echo Hill Farm included!

Calling All Whisky Lovers!

I’m shooting a personal project, and need whisky loving volunteers for portraits. Or if you don’t like whisky, that’s okay too, you just have to be willing to brave a shot of whisky for the camera. Trust me, it will be awesome. Must be 21+.

Come on by 209 College Street, Third Floor, tomorrow night between 6 and 9 to get involved. Just give me a heads up that you’re coming.

A couple months back Kingdom hired me to shoot the Vermont Hickory Open at the Copley Country Club in Morrisville. The images accompanied a feature piece on hickory golf by James Ellis.

Check it out here – Kingdom can be hard to find – it’s a gorgeous large-format magazine founded by Arnold Palmer (his own O Magazine, if you will), typically found at the resort courses designed by Arnie himself. It was great to see my images get such nice treatment, and I had a fun time hanging out with the golfers.
