Photos of the Day: Rose

I’ve been producing a bunch of new work, with a focus on location portraits and more set-up conceptual imagery. As much as I love documentary, sometimes it’s fun to make your own ideas unfold in front of you. For this shoot we started out in the studio and made some awesome portraits in front of the seamless, then we headed out to Shelburne Farms to catch the mid-evening light. I couldn’t have asked for better light – a cloud rolled in over the lake and diffused the sun perfectly as we started our umbrella shots. I had a lot of trouble choosing but I think these are my favorites from the series. Many thanks to my model Rose Powell for her total fabulousness in front of the camera!!

Free, yes, FREE portraits

Happy Saturday! Just a quick FYI that we got a new set of lights up at the studio and want to play. So we’re offering free five or ten minute portraits all day, from now til 5p.m. If you’re downtown for Farmer’s Market or Jazzfest, drop in, come out of the rain, come hang out and have an awesome portrait made of you. We’ll be posting a smugmug gallery where you can get a free low res download or order a reasonably priced print if you like. Studio address and directions below. Hope to see you there!

Photo of the Day: Ominous skies

Apologies for the lack of posts – I’ve been busy getting a new blog/website together which should hopefully go up in the next few weeks!

In the meanwhile, here’s an iPhone photo I snapped just a few minutes ago, as a massive thunderstorm rolled into Burlington.

In Memoriam: LCD Soundsystem

Today’s photo of the day is dedicated to LCD Soundsystem, who played their last show in New York City on April 2. When they came through Burlington for the first time, I was psyched. I didn’t know it would be the last. So in memory, I dug up one of my favorite photos from their show while rocking out to “Home.”
