Last month I went to the Liberate Music & Yoga Festival in Sheldon, Vermont. This is the beginning of a personal documentary project on festival life, which I’ll be building on in the coming months. I’ve been to a great deal of music festivals and it fascinates me how a community springs out of nothing, thrives, and then dissipates in a few short days. Liberate struck me, in particular, because it was such a small, close-knit festival with an incredible ambiance. Thanks to Ben and Jane, the organizers, for letting me be a part of this, the artists, for putting on amazing performances, and the fans for allowing me to document this moment of their lives.
